That's Kyllis looking spiffy in her uniform , getting ready for her first day of Primary School. From all that, you can tell that she's very excited and anxious about going to Primary One. A new school, new friends and new teachers. A totally new environment where she will be spending the next 6 years.
The P1 students are also assisted by their older friends in the school. Usually the Primary fives are enlisted to orient the new students by showing them around the school and to help them during recess time. The buddies are briefed by the teachers and instructed carefully on how to guide their new friends in Primary one. They have to report to the P1 teachers and to get instructions from them. The Buddy System lasted for two weeks. By then, the Primary One pupils will be independent and be able to get their way round the school on their own.
